About Us and Our Products
Who is behind Ilovecarlins?
Ilovecarlins is operated by APEXTRAIL DIGITAL LLC, a small business based in Kalispell, Montana. We are a retail business, not a manufacturer. We source camping cookware from vetted suppliers and sell directly to customers in the United States. There is no warehouse team of hundreds — it is a small operation, and we personally review what we carry before listing it.
Why did you start selling camping cookware?
Because buying camping cookware online is more confusing than it should be. Most listings repeat the same vague descriptions, skip the details that actually matter, and leave you guessing whether the pot is actually big enough for four people or whether the handles will hold over a campfire. We wanted to carry sets we could describe honestly and recommend without overcomplicating it. That is the whole idea.
How do you decide what products to carry?
We do not list everything we are offered. Before a set goes on the site, we look at material thickness, handle construction, nesting fit, whether the stated capacity is accurate, how the cookware performs on both a camp stove and over open coals, and how easy the pieces are to clean with limited water. We have passed on products that looked fine at first glance but did not hold up under honest evaluation. What you see on this site made it through that process.
Who are your products designed for?
Most of our customers are families heading to a state park for the weekend, couples on their first overnight hike, groups of friends setting up a base camp near a lake, or people who camp a few times a year and want gear that works without spending a lot. Our sets are not designed for elite expeditions. They are designed for the kind of outdoor cooking most people actually do.
Products and Materials
What materials are your cookware sets made from?
Our sets are made from 304 stainless steel or aluminum, depending on the product. We do not carry nonstick-coated cookware — no Teflon, PTFE, or PFAS. Bare stainless steel and aluminum are durable, easy to clean, and reliable for outdoor use. Each product page lists the exact material.
Is the stainless steel food safe?
Yes. Our stainless steel sets use food-grade 304 stainless steel, the same grade widely used in commercial kitchens. There are no coatings that can peel or flake. PFAS or "forever chemical" concerns only apply to nonstick coatings, which we do not use.
What is the difference between stainless steel and aluminum sets?
- Stainless steel: Heavier, more durable, handles open campfires and propane stoves, better for car camping and group use. Handles get hot — use a cloth or glove.
- Aluminum: Lighter, heats faster, better for backpacking where weight matters. Less durable over time. Use on propane or butane stoves only, not over direct campfire flame.
Can I use this cookware on an open campfire?
- Stainless steel sets: Yes. Suitable for open campfires, propane stoves, and butane burners. Handles get hot — use a cloth or towel when handling.
- Aluminum sets: Use on propane or butane stoves only. Thin aluminum can warp over direct flame and handles become dangerously hot. Check the product page for heat source compatibility before purchasing.
Can I use this cookware on a home stove?
- Stainless steel sets: Compatible with gas and electric stovetops. Not compatible with induction.
- Aluminum sets: Check the individual product page for stove compatibility details.
How do I choose the right set size?
- 1 to 2 people: A set with one pot (1.5 to 2 liters) and a small pan is usually enough
- 3 to 4 people: Look for a set with at least a 2.5-liter pot and multiple cooking surfaces
- 5 or more people: Consider a set with 3 liters or more, or multiple pots

Are these sets dishwasher safe?
Some sets are dishwasher safe, but repeated cycles can dull the finish over time. Hand washing is the safest option for all sets and keeps them in better shape longer. At camp without water access, a cloth and a small amount of sand works surprisingly well for quick cleaning.
Can I use metal utensils with these sets?
- Stainless steel sets: Metal utensils are fine.
- Aluminum sets: Use wood or silicone utensils to avoid scratching the surface.
How do I clean stainless steel cookware at camp?
Rinse after use. For stuck food, soak briefly and use a non-abrasive sponge. Dish soap is fine. Avoid steel wool. Let pieces dry thoroughly before packing them away — nesting damp cookware can cause odor buildup. At camp without water, a small amount of sand and a cloth works for basic cleanup.
Orders and Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept PayPal only. At checkout, you can pay using your PayPal account balance, linked bank account, or saved card. If you do not have a PayPal account, you can use PayPal guest checkout to pay with a debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover) without creating an account. We do not accept direct card payments outside of PayPal at this time. If we add payment options in the future, we will update our Payment Method page.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, within 24 hours of placing your order on a business day. Email us at support@ilovecarlins.com with your order number as soon as possible. After that window, once the order has shipped, cancellation is no longer possible. You can request a return after delivery under our 30-day return policy.
Will I receive an order confirmation?
Yes. You will receive a confirmation email immediately after payment with your order number, items purchased, shipping address, and total charged. PayPal also sends a separate payment confirmation. If you do not see either email, check your spam folder or email us at support@ilovecarlins.com with the name and email used at checkout.
Do you offer discount codes?
When we have active promotions, discount codes can be applied at checkout before completing payment. We do not apply retroactive discounts or offer price matching after an order has been placed.
Shipping and Delivery
How long does shipping take?
Total estimated time from order placement to delivery is 6 to 10 business days. This includes 1 to 3 business days for order processing, plus 5 to 7 business days for transit. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on orders of $99.00 or more to the contiguous United States. Orders under $99.00 are charged a flat shipping fee of $10.00. There are no other fees added at checkout.
Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico?
Not at this time. We ship to the 48 contiguous United States only. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, APO/FPO/DPO military addresses, or international destinations. For full details, see our Shipping Policy.
My tracking says delivered but I have not received my package. What do I do?
- Check around your delivery area including front porch, side door, mailbox, and with neighbors
- Wait 24 hours — carriers sometimes update tracking slightly ahead of the actual delivery
- Contact the carrier directly with your tracking number to open an investigation
- Email us at support@ilovecarlins.com with your order number and the carrier case reference number
We require carrier confirmation before issuing a replacement or refund for packages reported as lost after a Delivered scan.
My order arrived damaged. What do I do?
Contact us within 48 hours of delivery at support@ilovecarlins.com with your order number, a photo of the damaged item, and a photo of the outer shipping packaging. Once confirmed, we will send a replacement or issue a full refund at no cost to you. We cover return shipping for damaged items.
Returns and Refunds
What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of the delivery date. Items must be unused, or defective as received. All original components should be included. Original packaging is preferred but not strictly required for defective items. Email support@ilovecarlins.com first with your order number before sending anything back — do not ship to the original parcel address without a return authorization from us.
Who pays for return shipping?
- We cover return shipping when the item arrived damaged, defective, or is not what you ordered
- You cover return shipping when you changed your mind or no longer need the item
We recommend using a trackable service. We are not responsible for return packages lost in transit without tracking.
How long does a refund take?
Once we receive and inspect your returned item, refunds are processed within 3 to 5 business days. Refunds go back to your original payment method. Your bank or PayPal may take an additional 3 to 10 business days to post the funds. You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is issued.
Do you offer direct exchanges?
We do not process direct exchanges. If you would like a different item, start a return for your original order and place a new order for the item you want once your refund is confirmed.
